PAINT A POPPY FIELD IN ACRYLICS

Follow Jason’s playful methods of painting with acrylics, on this day course, to create a finished artwork that will remind everyone of Monet’s masterpeice.

The methods are fun and effective , quick and easy.

Level

Would suit an artist who has a little experience of working with acrylics

The classroom

Each student will have their own desk. The room will be well ventilated by leaving the windows open. The room will be carefully cleaned down before your arrival. Face coverings [ masks ] must be worn by the tutor and students while in the building.

Working within the restrictions of a Covid 19 safe classroom, Jason will be demonstrating on a large scale at the front of the room so that all can see from their individual tables. You will be undertaking exercises set by Jason and then interpret photographic reference to create your own landscape paintings using the ideas shown.

Refreshment

The arts centre cafe is currently closed, so no refreshments are provided. Students are welcome to bring their own drinks in.

Why does Jason think this course would be of value to you as a painter ?

This day course in aimed a getting you excited about painting again after the long hard moinths of covid lockdown. Lots of fun and exciting ways to apply paint will be explored, but perhaps most importantly it’s a chance to meet up with like minded painters and have some fun in relaced enviroment.

What will you do on the day ?

Look at a variety of ways of applying paint using a wide range of materials including card and plastic bags to create the look of grasses and poppies without having to rely too heavily on fine brush work.

What do you need to bring ?

Reference material will be provided, but you may wish to bring your own images to work from. You will need to bring the folowing:

Your acrylic painting kit – paints, brushes, paper or canvas, palette, rags or kitchen roll, masking tape etc.

In addition i would bring – an old small houshold painting brush, a couple of thin old plastic bags.
