Drawing and painting with acrylic inks

For nearly two years Jason experimented with using acrylic inks drawing and painting on paper, board and three dimentional objects. This medium has a great deal to offer modern day artists who want to make the most of their skills in drawing and painting. This permanent and durable medium has many useful features that can help you make exciting modern pieces.

This course looks specifically at the qualities of acrylic inks used first in a traditional way, drawing and tinting images using a single colour and then branches out into coloured drawing and even pearlized colour use within artwork.

This course is aimed at broadening your understanding of the characteristics of acrylic inks. It will also help you understand some common approaches used when tackling inks as a drawing medium. We will then look at some of the broader appications of acrylic inks drawing and painting on board and other surfaces to show their wider potencial uses.

What do you need to bring ?

You will need to bring a pot of acrylic ink – black, dark blue or dark brown to the first session, plus paper, a palette, dip pen, a small and medium sized paint brush, masking tape and some kitchen roll.
