WATERCOLOUR – LESS IS MORE

PALETTE

This 6 week course at The Hearth, Horsley will help both the beginner and artists with some experience of painting learn how to edit down a scene. Many artists state that they want to be more loose and free in their painting approach, less reliant on strictly copying photographs. This journey starts with learning to recognise what the viewer needs to see and what they do not need to see when making a picture. When you understand, even a little about this process, a whole new world opens up in painting where you are more free to play and interpret which can make painting a great deal more fun to do.

Nothing will be too taxing and everyone will make mistakes….this is intended to be a joyful and entertainting learning experience.

Jason Skill, your tutor, has taught watercolour painting to adults for more that thirty years. He has taught art for Newcastle University, The Laing Art Gallery, Newcastle City Learning and Newcastle and Gatehead Colleges. He is also a demonstrator for SAA and has his own online educational video buisiness – Studio
