DISTANT FIELD PATTERNS
If you can paint field patterns effectively you can make your landscape pictures stretch far into the distance. By gaining some knowledge of what works in terms of structure, shapes and mark-making you can paint extensive landscapes with greater skill and flair.

Here are a couple of great tips to inspire you to sign up to this information packed course:
Extend the look of distance through tonal changes – lighter in the distance and darker in the forground

Increasing the level of blue in the distance to soften off the far hills and intensify the foreground colours

By using these two methods, in conjuction with a better understanding of mark-making, field pattern construction and some basics in perspective within landscape, you can transform how you paint rolling hills.
