Van Gogh course

Two new courses are on offer where Jason shows you how to paint in the style of Monet and Sargent. Here are some examples of students work created on the Van Gogh course I ran before Christmas. Perhaps these will inspire you to pick up a brush and try your hand at painting in the style of Monet or Sargent with Jasons help and guidance.

One of the UNESCO listed Baroque towns of south – eastern Sicily, Ragusa is also the principal filming location for the Sicilian detective drama ”Inspector Montalbano’, a TV series that has done wonders for publicising the beauty of this area.

If you would like to learn more about the holiday then contact Antonella Rea on www.antonellarea.co.uk

Afternoon tea and painting

A wonderful day out was had by all at Jesmond Dene House Hotel yesterday. Fifteen artists signed up for an afternoon of watercolour painting followed by afternoon tea in the garden. This event was arranged by the Laing Art gallery to complement the ‘Enchanted Gardens’ exhibition presently on show in the gallery.

Sold artwork

Sold this artwork a few days ago. It was a watercolour I painted many years ago. It had featured in an article in ‘Artists’ magazine. The article was called ‘Grandma’s woods,’ because the watercolours were inspired by my time playing in a wood near my grandmas house when I was a child. The woods were beautiful, but just a little spooky.

New quirky tree paintings in acrylic

I am embarking on a series of acrylic paintings of trees, from imagination, to place as a backdrop to my stand at Patchings. This is the first completed painting. The painting below is about half way completed. I am really enjoying working with acrylic using spray cans and metalic colours in addition to my normal painting kit. I will post progress regarding the painting below soon as well as new artworks created for the show.
